You can create multiple layers on one image. Double-click any layer thumbnail to access the Layers panel, and you can double-click any tool icon to change the function of that layer or to create a new layer.

The Gradient Tool allows you to create patterns. There are a number of colors that are pre-selected in the toolbar.

The Pen Tool can draw shapes such as boxes or freehand. It can be used to outline objects, create paths, and make selections.

Removing Red Eye is a task that requires Photoshop skills. Red eye is caused by a person’s eye reflecting in the camera’s lens. It can be cured by either removing the reflection or by bleaching out the areas of the reflection.

Photoshop effects are also commonly used to make images more artistic. They include:

Blending Mode describes how the area of two images are blended together. There are four blend modes: Soft Light, Hard Light, Color Burn, and Difference. The blend modes can be changed in the options menu.

Blur is an effect that makes an image softer or blurrier.

The Glow filter effects the hue, saturation, and lightness of the color of the photo. There are more than 600 different filters that can be used, ranging from bright lights to soft colors. The filter types include Texture, Artistic, Color, Lens, HDR, Patterns, Styling and Sketch.
